Projects
Our members take part in many activities. PRSSA participation in past events include the 2006 Arctic Winter Games and National Veterans Wheelchair Games.

Public relations students have the opportunity to provide professional services to organizations, build their resume and develop valuable communication skills such as event planning, volunteer coordination, publication writing, public speaking and interviewing, website and print publication design and much more.

Recruitment

One of our main goals in 2007-2008 is to get more PRSSA members signed up. To this end we have participated in the UAA Campus Kick-off and the Student Involvement Fair. Announcements about PRSSA have also been made in many of the JPC classes.

Events
Professional Development Workshop Series - This is still in the works but we are planning on hosting a series of workshops such as resume enhancement, dress/etiquitte, interviewing skills and a speed-networking event to kickstart careers for up-and-coming professionals in communications, media and arts fields. It is tentatively scheduled for the Spring 2008 semester.

Speed Dating - This is a fun event designed to get PRSSA's name out around campus. A traditional speed dating event, it will give students an opportunity to meet others. Students will hold 5-10 minute conversations and then switch until they have had a chance to meet everyone. It is tentatively scheduled for the end of October.
